Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the region, generating strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency response teams received over five hundred calls for help across the state, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.
