It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's difficult for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to create her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her bow and seven world titles have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it has been a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and after that the right-hander was underway.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed the team required another 66 at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
